Communications: Postal and Courier Services

Postal Service

Postal service is generally reliable, but international mail may sometimes take weeks rather than days. Additionally, packages sent to other countries may incur additional fees. Speed Post service is available and delivers time-sensitive letters and parcels in 24 to 72 hours.

Stamps are available at hotels. Stamps and envelopes are non-adhesive and require glue to affix. If sending mail from outside your hotel, make sure that the seller cancels the postage in your presence, lest it get removed and resold after your visit. In addition to core postal services, India Post also provides banking, insurance, money order, and money transfer services.
